Summer is just continuing to fly by! I can't believe that it is almost August. Ben's softball season will start wrapping up, Steph will head back to her teaching job in Chicago, and Calvin's campus will once again be full of students. I am looking forward to that - it can be pretty dead around here during the summer.
This past weekend we went and saw Dark Knight on IMAX. It was so good - I highly recommend it. Go see it on IMAX, if possible. Saturday was spent up at Steph's cottage in Lakeview playing golfshoes (the ladder game), tubing, swimming, sitting in the sun, eating, and playing other games. In college so many weekends were spent there, so it was great to be back. Sunday we went to church, laid out by the pool, played some guitar hero, and then at night had some friends over to play Rook and Settlers. Even though Settlers has been out for awhile, I just learned how to play this summer. I AM ADDICTED. I love playing it!
This week Monday was spent celebrating my sister-in-law's birthday and at Ben's softball game, Tuesday I headed out to Grand Haven to meet a friend for dinner, last night was some girls time with Steph, Liz, and Erika, and tonight will be spent celebrating Tiger's (aka Amanda) birthday.
This weekend should be a fun one as well. Tomorrow Ben and I are going to see Wicked at the Wharton Center in Lansing with my sister, her boyfriend, and my mom. Ben and I saw it 4 years ago when it first opened in Chicago and loved it, so I am excited to go see it again. The music from the musical is great and fun to sing along to in the car :). I bet Steph and I listened to the CD at least 50 times as we drove across the country from California to Michigan, belting out the songs at the top of our lungs. Saturday is the much anticipated Red Neck Party at Lisa and Tom's. I went to Good Will and found most of my outfit, now I just need a few accessories to top it off. (Anyone know where I can find a padded prego belly for cheap?) Don't worry - there are many pictures on the way.
Hope everyone is having a lovely week!
